This is a newly published book on the flora of Cork City and County written by Tony O’Mahony. Tony is a self taught botanist who has studied the flora of Cork over the last 40 years. The book itself is well laid out with ample coloured photos, is easy to read and provides an overview of the history of botanical recording in Cork.

Whilst it focuses predominantly on native flora there is also a chapter devoted to alien flora. The book also touches on nature conservation issues and medicinal and food uses of plants.

The book is published by The Collins Press and was funded by Cork City Council and Cork County Council with support from the Heritage Council.
